Our story

Prime Ai Suite was founded in 2019 in the heart of Scotland by a small group of machine-learning researchers who had grown frustrated watching brilliant AI models languish in academic papers, never reaching the businesses that needed them most. We set out to bridge that gap — translating cutting-edge research into production-ready AI software that solves tangible problems.

Our first project was a document-classification system for a legal firm drowning in discovery paperwork. It reduced review time by 68 % and proved that our approach — deep domain immersion, rigorous engineering and relentless focus on user experience — could deliver outsized value. Word spread quickly, and within two years we had expanded from three founders to a multidisciplinary team of twenty-five professionals spanning data engineering, applied research, product design and client success.

Today we serve clients across healthcare, financial services, logistics, media and the public sector. Every engagement still starts the same way it did on day one: with listening. We believe that the best AI software is born from genuine understanding of the people who will use it, the data that will feed it and the outcomes that will justify it.

A former research lead at the University of Edinburgh, Isla co-founded Prime Ai Suite to bring lab innovations to the boardroom. She holds a PhD in computational linguistics and has published over thirty peer-reviewed papers on transfer learning.

2019 — The beginning

Three researchers leave academia to found Prime Ai Suite in a shared workspace in Edinburgh. The first client signs within two months.

2020 — First major deployment

Our NLP document-classification engine goes live at a top-20 UK law firm, processing over 50,000 documents per month with a 96 % accuracy rate.

2021 — Team expansion

Headcount grows to fifteen. We open a dedicated machine-learning lab and invest in GPU infrastructure to train custom foundation models on client data.

2022 — Healthcare breakthrough

We partner with an NHS trust to deploy a clinical-notes extraction pipeline that saves clinicians an estimated 2,000 hours per year. The project wins a Digital Health Award.

2023 — International reach

Clients in Ireland, the Netherlands and Canada begin working with us remotely. We introduce multilingual NLP capabilities supporting twelve European languages.

2024 — Generative AI era

We launch our retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) platform, enabling enterprises to build secure, hallucination-resistant chatbots grounded in their own knowledge bases.

2025 — Looking ahead

With a team of twenty-eight and over 120 production systems delivered, we continue to push the boundaries of what AI software can achieve — responsibly and at scale.
